Islay (Molly Malone from the Noble Friends) ble importert for å få inn nytt og spennende blod. Mor Indigo Girl har tyske jaktlinjer og far er australsk import til Liric Kennel i England. Jeg er veldig fornøyd med måten Islay fungerer på. Hun tilpasser seg biotoper på en veldig god måte. Hun går større på lavland og fjell enn i skog. Hun er langt fra skopusser, men går heller ikke over 500 m. Hun ble plukket i finalen på Topptreff sør på Gordon Castle i 2012. Islay jakter meget godt, veldig god viltfinner. Hun er djerv i reis, forøvrig behandler hun skutt fugl veldig pent. Hun bruker vinden godt, god reviering, hun er helt selvstendig og har utmerket samarbeid. Jeg som eier har brydd meg mer om jakt enn prøver, men har fått kommet meg på noen uten å ha fått premie men fått veldig gode kommentarer på kritikkskjema. "Islay jakter meget godt i varierende biotop. Fortsetter sitt meget gode søk. Islay støkker stort rapphønskull og forfølger". Poeng; 5,5,6,4,4,4.

Islay (Molly Malone from the Noble Friends) was imported to bring in new and exciting blood. Mother Indigo Girl has German hunting lines and father is Australian import to Liric Kennel in England. I am very pleased with the way Islay works. She adapts to biotopes in a very good way. She walks larger on lowlands and mountains than in forests. She doesn't go in your feet, but does not exceed 500 m either. She was picked in the finals at Top meeting south of Gordon Castle in 2012. Islay hunts very well, and is very good game finder. She is a bold raiser, but she treats the bird very well. She uses the wind well, good revival, she is completely independent and has excellent cooperation. As an owner, I've been more interested in hunting than tests, but I've come to some without having a prize but received very good comments on the criticism. Meaning of the name "Islay":
I have taken it from the Scottish Isle of Islay. Islay is part of the southern Hebrides . The Isle of Islay is also called Queen of the Hebrides. It lies in Argyll just south west of Jura and around 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of the Irish coast. The island's capital and largest settlement is Bowmore where the distinctive round Kilarrow Parish Church and a distillery are located. Port Ellen is the main port. Islay is known for the 8 working whisky distilleries, the stunning scenery, amazing wildlife and all the friendly people.

I have chosen this name because the breed is Scottish and I wanted to use something from their origin. I think it's important to preserve / reveal the original Gordon Setter, that "old-Gordon" - Appearance-wise of the bigger type, but also health and hunting skills are extremely important. When it comes to their temperament they shall be the calmest and safest of Setters, and it's also something I cherish in breeding :)
